INNISFREE Salon Hair Care Program

so recently it was my birthday but i totally didnt feel like celebrating at all
i think i've hit the 1/5-life crisis and am super depressed about getting older helplessly
so what i did was to stay home all day while the rest of the country celebrated father's day, and treated my hair to this AMAZING PRODUCT

i have come to term it a miracle product now because it seriously did WONDERS for my hair

first, i'll tell you about the state of my hair
my hair used to be amazingly smooth and soft about a year ago because i took care of it really well, and also thanks to BaWang shampoo! (another post)
but then i started colouring it and bleaching it occasionally (dip-dye) which resulted in the ends of my hair becoming super dry LIKE STRAW and just beyond salvage after a while
so what i did was to cut away the straw-like ends every now and then (yes, i cut my own hair) and my hair just became shorter and shorter, but the ends were still bad ):

currently, my hair length is just a little below my shoulders, my hair ends are still coloured
my hair condition is slightly better because i have been using hair care products more regularly, but my ends are still not in the best condition
also, my hair gets clumpy even though i would consider it to be on the dry side, making it very uncomfortable, which is why i always run my fingers through my hair whenever, wherever

now, on to the product!
i bought this product a year ago in korea without any thoughts, just wanted to spend my remaining money
which was why i didnt use it til now, it was kept away til i recently re-discovered it
cant remember now how much exactly did it cost, but it wasnt too expensive

because i did not hold any sort of expectations from this product, the results really blew me away!
my hair type is naturally wavy (dad has curly hair), but i always style my hair as straight as possible by blow-drying it every.single.freaking.day
yeah i know its bad, but i cant help it ㅠ~ㅠ

so for this product there are 2 options available, one was the straight hair and one was the wavy hair option
i picked the straight hair option

and if you opened the box, it contains 3 things:
1. ampoule
2. the treatment product
3. shower cap

the back of the box was entirely in korean so i didnt take a photo of it
even the instructions were in korean
though i could read and understand, i couldnt understand the instructions very thoroughly which led to me googling the directions, but that didnt really help either haha

so, i followed my own instincts (:

1) basically, i shampooed my hair first to clean it, and then wash it off and slightly towel-dry it
2) then i applied the ampoule and massaged it into my hair and scalp, and waited for 5 minutes
3) after 5 minutes, i applied the treatment over my ampouled hair, especially on hair (making sure i get the product onto as many strands of hair as possible)
4) i neatened my hair into a bun and then wore the shower cap over
5) by right, you're supposed to wait for only about 20minutes and then wash everything off thoroughly, but i waited for about an hour heh

AMPOULE
the ampoule came in a transparent liquid like substance that smells mentholish
BUT! it totally refreshes your scalp!
when the substance touches your scalp, after 1 second, your scalp becomes super cool
its like eating a mint sweet and then drinking water, same effect
it felt like i was undergoing a spa session to cool my entire head by burying it in a bucket of snow haha
in singlish terms, it was damn shiok lah!
there was enough product to cover my entire head of hair, and even enough for me to spread it evenly throughout
*what you should do here is to divide your hair into horizontal sections so that the areas closer to the roots receives product too

PACK
the pack was essentially the treatment, and felt the same too
this would condition your hair into the softness that one always desires
smells pleasant, very gentle on scalp, and the serving was generous
i had leftovers that i simply piled on on my hair-ends

after washing off everything thoroughly, i blow-dried my hair about 70% and already i could feel the instant difference in terms of texture
my hair was so much softer than before (remember, STRAW) and it was also easier to run my fingers through (no more clumpiness)
of course, it would be myopic to judge so quickly, because the real test would be the durability of this product's results over the next few days

2nd day: i woke up with SUPER STRAIGHT HAIR, washed and blowed by hair and it still felt the same, soft and smooth
went to work where i bunned my hair and sprayed plenty of superhard gatsby hairspray to make it stay for 9hours
and after 9hrs when i finally released my hair, it only took about 5 minutes to become 90% straight again!
even my colleagues were amazed that my hair totally didnt have any 'bunned marks' and it looked like i just came to work ^^

3rd day: again, woke up with SUPER STRAIGHT HAIR, tied my hair into a messy bun the whole day, but when i released it, it became super straight again in a small amount of time, still very smooth!

and finally, today is the fourth day and i am still waking up with super straight and smooth hair

i really think i have found my miracle hair product this time!
gonna see if Innisfree still sells them when i go over to korea soon and imma stock up big time if they do!

Bio Essence Bio-Energy Snail Secretion Repair Serum

LT is sorry for not posting as frequent as promised :(

Anyway, I am going to start a new kind of review style because of what my friend said to me :)! I wish to target more to those who do not particularly take care of their skin and are contemplating to start. Hence, I will skip any stories of mine and make my reviews short and sweet for people who has yet to commit and wish to know more in the shortest time.

It's like a contemporary style haha!

Alright let's begin!

Product:  Bio Essence Bio-Energy Snail Secretion Repair Serum

Bio-Energy Snail Secretion Repair Serum
Usage:
  • Enhances absorption of nutrients and moisture to help rebuild skin’s ability to retain moisture
  • Replenishes collagen, makes skin more refined, smooth and radiant; also enhances skin’s vitality
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Enriched with many different vitamins to slow down aging of skin, for a newborn like skin
  • Repairs pimple scars and marks, keeping skin smooth and refined
  • Soothes skin and protects skin against harmful pollutants
  • Restores newborn skin texture, revealing a supple, refine and smooth complexion

I bought this for its ability to repair pimple scars and replenishes collagen. It also has this nice fragrance that I like :) I've been using this for over a month, although I am not as diligent as when I started :p

It has a gooey touch but after you spread it on your face and massage gently for a while, it absorbs fast. My pimple scars have indeed been reduced but at the same time new pimples have been appearing because of my diet and stress. My face also stays radiant so long I use it everyday.

I guess this is how all if not most beauty product works. They work slow and requires you to keep using it for a long time to see its beneficial effects? Strange that A has been telling me about her miracle products..where's mine?!

Overall, I would recommend buying this if you can afford (it costs me $39.90) and use this after applying your moisturizer. There is also the snail series repair cream which has roughly same usages but more suitable for middle-age ladies I presume. Anyone has tried both and can tell me the difference? :)

That's all from me! Hope you guys can find a miracle product that works for you~
But a reminder from me,  miracle product is like prince charming, do they exist? keke

NATURE REPUBLIC Gel Eyeliners

gel liners are my absolute favourite type of eyeliner
they are the ones i SOLELY SWEAR BY
NO OTHER; IRREPLACEABLE
ok i assume you get my point

why you may ask?
compared to pencil liners, gel liners are easier to use because the colour comes on with less force
i have used pencil liners in the past and my eyelids hurts from all that scratching done trying to perfect the shade i want
compared to liquid liners, they are easier to remove if you make a mistake while drawing, and dont leave faint black patches (from the erasing) as badly as liquid liners

granted, there is negativity too
its harder to achieve a perfectly straight line with gel liners than say liquid liners
but thats what sharpeners are for! (:
ok there are days where im lazy to sharpen my liners and i just end up drawing thicker lines haha

also i feel that gel liners gives you a gentler look compared to liquid/pencil liners and doesnt make you look as fierce/bitchy if your drawn line is too thin

introducing, my secret weapons!

from top to bottom: botanical gel eyeliner, provence gel eyeliner, and lastly the tropical dream gel eyeliner

and all 3 are from NATURE REPUBLIC

looooove nature republic's packaging
always so environmentally friendly~

and here are the tips of my eyeliners
i love multi-function products!
at the end of the provence liner is a smuger for you the create the smoky sorta effect, and the other two has sharpeners at their ends

closer look at the ends

let me just say that i am very guilty of drawing my eyelines in the car/taxi on the way to work
and i really hate it when the tip of my liner is blunt because it just adds on to the difficulty level of drawing while on the move!
so i always sharpen my liners in the car with these end sharpeners
so convenient!

and swatches

basically all three liners has the SAME IDENTICAL EVERYTHING BUT ITS NAME (or colour)
same price (7000원), same texture, same creaminess, same consistency, same effect, same everything
im guessing that it only differs in name because it was released at different periods after the discontinuation of the previous one

so the tropical dream was the first one ever that i chanced upon last june
and i bought like 5 back and finished 4 by september
no i will not admit that im an addict, but i blame myself for sharpening too much off each time )':

then my friend went to korea in december and got me the botanical one but in brown (i had asked for black)
but it was an AWESOME MISTAKE
because i am now in love with the brown! ^^
this brown actually makes me look so much gentler, like my eyes are enhanced but its not that obvious that im using eyeliner to enhance them
*when i go to korea (in 2 weeks time!) im gonna get more browns!!

and the 3rd one, the provence liner, my colleague got them for me just 2 months ago when she went to korea
i got them because i had finished exams and was going to work like almost everyday and so i needed more of my staple liners in case they run out

if im not wrong, there's a whole provence line in nature republic besides my gel liner
there's provence lipsticks, provence eyeshadows, provence foundation, provence nail polishes etc

whatever it is, i hope nature republic continues their gel liners forever
name or no name i honestly dont care
as long as its there!

i really dont know where else to get these other than from nature republic in korea
i tried online stores but they are always overpriced or sold out ):
if you see them being sold on the internet, tell me!

INNISFREE Wine Jelly Sleeping Pack

sleeping packs are one of the best inventions for lazy people like me
i have quite a few of them from different brands
just slap on, sleep, and wake up with awesome skin!

today, i introduce you, the INNISFREE WINE JELLY SLEEPING PACK

here's how it looks like inside, with the innisfree logo on the cover

and the description+directions on the base of the tub

got this product during my trip to korea last year after researching for Innisfree's recommended-to-buy items online

initially when i started using this around august last year, i didnt think much about it because it had almost no effect on me
and then i found out why!
it was because i didnt massage the product well into my skin, so i always slept with a pile of goo on my face, which was really uncomfortable

but now that i have re-discovered this product, im loving it!

even though it is said to be used as the last stage of your night skincare routine, i used it straightaway after cleansing and toning
bit by bit, i'll apply it onto the different parts of my face and massaged the product in THOROUGHLY
this is very important if you want the product to be absorbed and for it to work its magic
*massage it somewhat like when you're cleansing your face, in small circular motions all over
the product really does get absorbed in very smoothly if you massage well, leaving a sort-of matte finish

also, because this product comes in a pot form where you have to scoop out the products, there is high tendency that your remaining product will look very ugly and messy from all the past scooping
however! when i picked it up and opened it (after almost a year of leaving it on my shelf), it looked completely new and un-damaged thanks to the shape-memory formula

consistency is somewhat like jelly/pudding, there is solidity in it, but blends well when massaged

the thing about me is that i really like using sleeping packs/masks for my nighttime skincare routine because i feel that these products are specially formulated and designed to last you through the night/work their magic given that specific (sleeping) time period

also, because i sleep under harsh conditions aka aircon blasting directly at me (else i cant sleep), i usually pick products which includes moisturising contents to save my skin

however, this product does the bare minimum in hydrating
although i feel ok with regards to the moisturising effect, my skin shows otherwise
after a few days of using this product at night, the tip of my nose started peeling ):
also, my flakey cheeks returned ):

so i guess this product cant survive my blasting aircon all that well

nonetheless! this product smells awesome!!
*saving grace
since its a wine pack, it smells soooo much of sweet grapes
sometimes i think i use this product solely for the smell
i love fresh/sweet smelling products and going to sleep with the smell of this pack is just divine~

all in all, i would recommend this product if you just need some light moisturising effects at night
otherwise, i would advice you to find a better pack than this
